Shoot 4 - Work diary:

Shoot 4 - Work diary:

My idea for shoot 4 was quite simple, while walking my dog over my local field I decided it could be interesting to photograph him while on his walk and while he runs around the field. I felt that this was again a personal idea for journey, but also a new idea that shows a journey for animals as well as pets.

Progression:

Overall I felt that this was again a successful shoot as I think it again shows an original idea that still complies to my topic. Within this shoot I was able to capture some stills of my dog while running which I think look effective as well as showing my dog having a great time. For this I had my camera set with an aperture of around f16 capturing all of the sunlight in the image and a ISO of around 100.

This is one of the first images that i decided to take while on this shoot. The idea for the image was to capture the dog on the dog eager to get going on his walk, while this was a hard shot to time with him being so eager to run, I still think that its effective showing a excited dog ready to get going on his walk. Something I enjoy about this image is the angle in which the camera is facing, its looking down towards the dog but was also able to capture the angle of the lead within it.

This is another image that I enjoy from this shoot, I feel I was lucky to catch this shoot with the dog being partly mid air. Although you cannot see the expression on the dogs face I feel that from this image you a infer that the dog is having a good time and is enjoying himself. I think that him being in the middle of the frame is also interesting as it shows him enjoying being in the open space and being able to run around freely.

Shoot 3 - Work diary

Shoot 3 - work diary:

My aim for this shoot is to try and re-create some baby photographs. For this I plan to include my cousin as we have multiple baby pictures of each other growing up. I think that this idea for my shoot is again a personal shoot as it is looking at the journey of growing up, going from being a young child to a young adult. This is also a fun shoot as it allows for fun re-creating these images.

Progression:

I found that this shoot was a enjoyable one to conduct, it was fun to look back at old pictures and try to re-create them in a non serious way. Overall I am happy with the out come of the images however there are improvements that could take place. For example on the camera that I was shooting with, there was times where i felt that the ISO I was using could have been higher (a setting that my camera did not have) as well as the aperture not always being right. If I was to shoot again I would take all of this into consideration and try and find a more suitable background for my shoot. However that being said I have decided that I will not conduct a  re-shoot nor will I pursue this idea further as I think that there are other aspects that I would like to look into.

This is an example of an image that I re-created. I attempted to try and get the composition of the image more or less the same as the original. While the background is not the same I still think that this re-creation works as you can see her acting in the same way with the only difference being her appearance and age.

This is another example of  a re-creation, however in this image I am not as happy with the outcome. In this image i had to play around massively with the camera settings and still think that it was on to high of an aperture. While the concept of this image was successful I think that the technical side lets the image down making it look over exposed and to lit.

Photographer 3 - Royna Galka:

Royna Galka is a German photographer now based in London focusing on the London street photography. Galka has had a had  a passion for urban photography from a young age. The way in which she captures her images is so that the tell the stories without an explanation.

I have found Galka's work to be an influence to me as i feel that looking at street photography in London is a interesting way of looking a journey. London is one of my favourite places and i feel that where ever you go theres always a new place  or journey for you to explore. I feel that Galka would be a god photographer to try and base a shoot around to try and get this idea across.

This image is an example of Galka's work. Here the use of depth makes the image enticing and more interesting. As a whole i really enjoy this image as you can see many different buildings as well as people going along with their daily business.

These two images are an example of her London street photography. Here what is interesting is that you can clearly determine the type of weather going on. I think this helps to portray a journey as so elements would be different if you was to take this picture in the summer.

This is another example of Galka's street work. In this image you cannot precisely determine where the image was taken, however this is not the focus of the image. Here again you can see the weather conditions, with the focus being of a man walking through the street in the rain. Here the use of tone helps to add depth to the image making it more intense.
