Shoot 5 - Work diary:
Shoot 5 was a follow up to shoot 1, I really enjoyed shooting in London and felt that there was so much more for me to try and capture in my photography. My idea for this shoot was to go to piccadilly circus and try to capture new journeys as well as constant ones. Piccadilly is well know for the large advertisement boards and many theatres, while these do not directly show a journey, this shoot became my journey around Piccadilly.
Progression:
This shoot allowed me to conduct one of my favourite styles of photography, one photographer that I researched - Kris Massey - in some of his images he likes to just capture the views around him on his daily travels. I found this shoot to be quite similar to this where i just took my camera a decided to just photograph my surroundings. In the literal sense a journey is something simple as a walk so i felt that by capturing my surroundings i would be showing my journey.
This is my image of the advertisement in Piccadilly. This shows a well know part of London and is again a journey around London. The dark sky in this image is something that i find interesting as it helps to highlight the contrast with the bright colours of the coca cola sign. I think that this really emphasises the signs here and makes them more effective.
This is an example of some street photography in Piccadilly, within the one image you can see multiple journeys such as the man running and the women walking towards the train station. I think the of tone in this image helps to highlight each individual journey and make them look more intense.
