Shoot 8 - Work diary:

Shoot 8 - Work diary:

For this shoot I decided to go on a simple walk and capture some of the nature around again focusing on my surroundings as I go on journeys. I felt that since I have looked at busy London streets it would be nice to look at something completely opposite and take a walk in a field.

Progression:

For this shoot sunlight was an issue that I had to deal with I used and aperture of around f 5.6 and an ISO of 800 and found that this worked for me. I really enjoyed this shoot as it reminded me that a journey didn't have to be somewhere far away and exciting and can be a simple walk. As I was photographing something so natural i decided this is how I would leave the images so they didn't look overly edited.

This is an example of an image from this shoot. I took this image as we arrived and have decided its one of my favourites from the shoot. The original idea was to simply photograph sitting in the car going on some sort of journey. However looking at the image now i feel that it was improved by the sun light coming through. I feel like this is simple way of showing a journey.

This is another example from this shoot. I felt that the gate being opened is simply allowing people to walk through therefore allowing them to go on their journeys. This could act as a barrier allows people in and out. I like the composition of this image as i think it makes it look like you are allowed to enter meaning a journey can begin.

Shoot 7 - Work dairy:

Shoot 7 - Work diary:

For this shoot I was once again based in London however this time I decided to go at night and show a contrast. This is a continuation of my idea to capture surroundings. I think that this allows me to show my personal enjoyment in photography. This time I decided to go to South Bank and photograph the London Eye when it is all lit up and how it contrasts from the day.

Progression:

For me this was one of the first shoots that I conducted at night this meant that finding the correct camera settings was difficult for me. (unfortunately I forgot to note them down). Technically i feel that this is not one of best shoots however i did enjoy it would have liked to conduct a re-shoot had i had the time.

This is one of my favourite images from the shoot. Here i felt like i had used the correct camera settings and felt that the image has come out well. When editing I only decided to crop the image slightly. I really like the reflection of the lights in the water in the image adding depth to the image.

This is another image from this shoot, I took this shot while walking back to the translation unsure about the settings that my camera was one. Here i feel like the exposure was to high for this shot but however am actually happy with the out come of the photograph. I think that the blurring makes for a interesting concept and also thinks that it puts emphasis on the lights on the South Bank.

Shoot 6 - Work diary:

Shoot 6 - Work diary:

My idea for shoot 6 was to try and show some aspects of life that people go through through the use of signs. I think that this is an interesting way of looking at a journey by looking at the different buildings that you go to during your life.

Progression:

This shoot was again looking at personal journeys that people go through in life. I think that this is an original idea that is able to show important stages in peoples lives. I am happy with the images that i produced in this shoot and think that the simplicity of the shoot is able to portray the message of the shoot.

Both of these images are examples of the signs showing important stages in life. The first image being of a primary school a place where a young child gets to learn and begin to grow on their journey to growing up and taking on new responsibilities. The image below is of a care home a place for the elderly to be cared for when they can no longer do so for themselves. These images contrast important stages in life and the different experiences that people have. I felt that it would be best for me to keep my images as simple as possible here as I think that it helps to keep the idea effective.
